NOT UP TO PAR

Have seen the Phantom every year it comes to Pittsburgh. I was so excited to see this years Phantom for the fact it was the 25th anniversary so I was expecting spectacular, well it was disappointing. The props not up to par, the Mascaraed scene and costumes not as fun or colorful like the past , Phantom okay, Christine's voice amazing. Orchestra (music) is always fantastic. The past years you could feel the music in your chest and you would be mesmerized by scenes and actors, you would be pulled in(feeling the emotions of the actors) and feel like you were up on that stage with them. This year we felt like the whole production was so rushed thru and seemed like it was missing a lot of details, especially emotion (did not have a chance to connect to their emotions). We felt like the ending came abruptly and we were left with an emptiness. Past years I have felt so bad for the Phantom, this year I honestly was irritated and bored. Hopefully next production will be as good as past.

GREAT PERFORMANCES MUTED BY DISAPPOINTING SOUND SYSTEM

Wonderful set and performances, but the lyrics were often indisguishable from the powerful music. The audio engineer should increase the volume of the center channel so the voices could prevail.

NOT THE BEST PERFORMANCE

I attended this show last night. It was good, but certainly not great. Disappointed.

DISAPPOINTING - STILL ANREW LLOYD WEBBER MUSIC THOUGH

We have seen productions all over the world, this was by far the most disappointing. Stage scenes were lacking in grandeur and actor movements often seemed contrived rather than flow with the scene. Sat in balcony and music overpowered Christine's singing. Could hear Phantom sing, but again not soaring. Restaged Masquerade was well short of earlier stagings on a grand staircase. Scene on roof of Opera House was dismal - if you were not aware of plot, you would not realize it was a rooftop. Worth seeing if you haven't seen before, likely disappointed if you have seen earlier productions.

THE BEST STAGING AND SETS EVER!!!

I'm shocked reading the terrible reviews others have posted, as I absolutely LOVED this production! Everything was wonderful, from acting to singing to dancing to costume design to direction, staging, and set design! We sat at the back right of the orchestra in row DD and DID understand what they were saying. My whole family (including an 8 year old boy who adored it) left feeling so glad to have been able a show of this caliber in San Antonio. I could not have been happier with our experience.

PHANTOM IN OMAHA

This was our 6 th time seeing The a Phantom. I purchased 4 th row center and could not even see their faces, the whole play was dark and shortened. Why have it so dark you could not see them. The reason I purchased these tickets WAS to see their faces. The performance by the phantom was terrible. He had problems holding notes and was the worst of all the phantoms. He just didn’t seem to be able to pull it off. The height difference was almost a joke as he had to bend over for some scenes.I was very disappointed with the changes in the scenery. Just did not seem to be a top notch program. If these are the same actors in a performance near me., being with in 400 miles. I won’t waste the gas or hotel room again. Poor showing!
