THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA

I chose to see this show because I loved the film and also because the story is really interesting. I saw the show the 28th September at 8pm. The Orchestra and cast were totally amazing as were the settings and costumes. I really enjoyed the whole show and would defnitely see it again.

PHANTOM LIVES ON

I finally got to see Phantom of the Opera live on Broadway on my birthday and it was by far the best part of my day. The actors were great, especially Jennifer Hope Wills. Her singing gave me goosebumps. And John Cudia as the Phantom was very powerful and brought me to tears a few times throughout the show. The friend who took me has seen the show a dozen times and she said this was the best performance she'd seen yet. In addition to the great cast, the orchestra was wonderful and the sets were absolutely beautiful.

COULD NOT HEAR THE WORDS IN THE SONGS

Either the acoustics were not set up properly, or the actors mumbled while singing. At first, I thought that since I'm middle aged, maybe my hearing is going. But then during intermission I heard many of the other patrons saying that they also had difficulty understanding (not hearing) the words. The costumes and the set were beautiful, the theme great, but we missed most of the show because we didn't know what the actors were singing for much of the performance. Shows are so costly and I attend a performance once every 1-2 years as a treat. I feel like I wasted my time and money here.

PHANTOM OF THE OPERA

Having seen Phantom on tour in both Orlando and Ft. Lauderdale I was so excited to finally see it on Broadway..it has been a dream of mine. The performance was good--but upon leaving the theatre I was very disappointed--it literally ruined the show. Rude staff basically kicked us out while the orchestra played at the end...to the tune of staff literally yelling "turn off your cameras" repeatedly (this could have been handled with much more class)--I stayed and listened to both touring orchestras--something that I thoroughly enjoy and looked forward to this time--with the cast out & about speaking to patrons. I expected a more professional and refined experience from New York. It really was a disappointment. The touring group in both cases was so much more professional. I am still amazed...saw it on Friday--8/14/09. I am from a small town in Central FL...I don't have super high expectations, but this was a major let down.

PHANTOM OF THE OPERA REVIEW

My first time in New York City and I topped it off with Phantom of the Opera. It was really well planned out and really well done. Im in theatre myself and I really like the experience up on the stage acting. Before I went to see it on Broadway I watched the movie many times in the Band room at my high school. I would have to say its a lot different on stage than in the movie. I would have to say that Phantom of the Opera on broadway is much better

EVERYTHING AND MORE

I was a chaperone for a high school choral group and Phantom was the musical my chaperone group went to see. The musical was everything we had expected and more. The group was in awe of such a magical performance. The seating was wonderful. I didn't think there was a bad seat in the house. I would definitely take my mother and anyone else to the musical. There is a great pizza type restaurant across the street that used to be a church of somesort. Phantom was phenomenal!

AMAZING

The musical was AMAZING. The singing was incredible, and the special effects were outstanding. I will never forget such a memorable experience. The only concern I have is the AIDS fundraiser campaign that occurs right after the show. While the purpose may be good, the phantom becoming a salesman ruins the atmosphere and mood the musical produced. Put signs in the hallway or something, but don't have the phantom suddenly start talking and selling stuff on the stage Other than that, the performance was astounding. The theater was superb. Everything turned the experience into one that I will never forget.
