ASTOUNDING

I saw POTO this past May and fell in love with the musical. Amazing costumes, cast, sets, it was better than what i imagined. I especially loved the Masquerade scene.

HIGHLIGHT OF MY NYC EXPERIENCE!

The show tonight at the Majestic was absolutely AMAZING!!! It completed my trip on day 2 out of the 5 that I'll be here! From the cast to the sets to the orchestra and lighting everything was excellent! I definitely love this play and always have since i saw it with Brightman and Crawford when i was a kid... i would recommend this play to everyone!

FANTASTIC!!

"The Phantom of the Opera" was the very first play I had ever seen,(I'm only 14, and it was for a school trip to NYC) but wow I was truely AMAZED! John and Jennifer's voices' were beautiful and blended together so perfectly!I went home and watched the movie, and couldn't help but wish it was them instead! I believe that the play was better than the movie..I am still blown away at the performance! Now I wish I could go and see 'Love Never Dies', and thanks to John and Jennifer's performance, I am now a 'Phantom' fan!

YOUNG CRITIC'S POINT OF VIEW

While I love the "Phantom" I must admit I was a bit disappointed. I have read this book 15 times, seen a recording of the original cast 55 times, and watched the movie more times than I can count. While the performance that I went to seemed to have no emotion in it. I know every line, every word, and every part of this play and i must say I could do a better job then what I saw. The actress that played Christine seemed to force her voice to a point of it being unhealthy and unnecessary. The Phantom was not as much as a failure; by the fact that his phrasing was off and the breathing seemed shallow he was okay. The rest of the cast just looked flat out tired and sluggish like they had been out drinking earlier and not tried to put on their best performance. In the overall point of this review is that I a young critic have been disappointed by the legendary "Phantom of the Opera".
