HEARTBREAKING LETDOWN

I am a HUGE Phantom fan. I have seen it performed five times previously in NYC and was more enamored every time I saw it. Until now. I saw the Phantom Saturday, May 14,2022 for my birthday and I was crushed with how disappointing it was that night. There was absolutely NO chemistry between the Phantom and Christine. The both sang well enough but there was no passion or pull during any of their scenes together. They barely even touched. And letting Christine collapse to the floor when the bride mannequin moves?! Never. The Phantom has always caught her and carried her, lovingly, to the bed. Without the connection, there is no love triangle, it's an obvious line that leads directly to Raoul - and the exit. I will always love the Phantom, but it will take a lot of convincing before I watch it in NYC again.

WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE!

We had a wonderful date night seeing the show and dinner at a Japanese barbeque place a block away. Our seats were wonderful in the front center of the balcony. If you want to be in the middle of the action the orchestra seating would be a good choice as well. The sets are stunning and full of neat surprises. Loved that a lot of details followed the novel as well as the music from Webber. The orchestra was spectacular. I enjoyed most of the signing as well, it was very impressive. Only critique would be the phantom's singing, whenever he went into his head voice he unrounded his vowels and it did not sound correct. Added an off twang to some of his singing. But the falsetto half of his singing sounded great! Overall a great experience!

BEST SHOW EVER!

If you only see one Broadway show in your life, make it Phantom of the Opera. I’ve seen 47 Broadway shows and enjoyed all of them but this was by far the best ever.

BEST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE

I saw the Phantom of the Opera tour in St. Louis at the Fox theatre 3 years ago and it was absolutely breathtaking. I was most impressed by Eva tavares and Quentin Oliver Lee as Christine Daae and The Phantom. Their voices were outstanding, especially Eva's. Every single time she started singing i got chills everywhere, and it is by far the best singing I have ever heard. I would do anything to see the show again! 100 percent reccomend.

PHANTOM OF THE OPERA IN TORONTO

I went to see Phantom of the Opera in Toronto recently and I must say it’s one of the best Phantom productions I have ever seen. The set, the cast, the whole production exceeded my expectations. When I saw it in a London it was amazing but this time round, it was truly magical. The Phantom’s voice was mesmerizing and he was so powerful. Thank you for bringing such a good performance to Toronto. Definitely would recommend it especially with this beautiful cast. I would give it more stars if I could.

I'VE SEEN BETTER

I have experienced the phantom in NYC, London and in Toronto many times and I must say that this new production is the worst. Derrick Davis is a terrible Phantom. He overacts some of the scenes, shows little emotion that makes us believe he is in love with Christine and his singing sounds forced. Emma Grimsley has a beautiful voice but again she just has no passion in her delivery. Jordan Craig portays Raoul as someone we would hate instead of love. To tell you the truth the best performer was Kathryn McCreary playing Carlotta. She has a magnificent voice and portays the character the was it was meant to be portrayed. I was impressed by the props. Some of the best I have ever seen in a POTO performance. The stairs coming out of the wall down to his lair was genius and the masquerade ballroom was superb. I did miss seeing the phantom come down the grand staircase as his entrance in that scene was lackluster. Overall it was a good show but just not a great one.

BEYOND FANTASTIC. WHO IS THAT MASKED MAN? ;)

I have seen Phantom 8 times now and I have to say between the new sets, the pyro, the emotion evicted by the characters it is a very sad tell of love and acceptance. Derrick is hands down the best Phantom yet. He actually made me cry he was so powerful. Emma was great as Christine. The other supporting characters were excellent and the show flowed with perfection. A must see as you will not regret this!! 5 BIG BIG STARS!!
