GREAT SHOW, DISAPPOINTING THEATER...

I was very excite to go and experience my first broadway show ever in nyc. I have to say the show itself was very good, it kept my attention through out the show. The theater was disappointing, the seating was very small and narrow, my husband is not a big guy and yet he had to stretch his legs towards my side to keep from bumping the head of the person in front of us. The biggest complain we have is the staff of the theater, they were rude and pushy. When I asked for direction for the seating, the lady sounded very impatient and arrogant. When the show was over, the gentlemen who was directing us out was commenting everyone like a hurdle of animals, yelling across and saying: "hurry up, I want to go home sometime tonight and I have a cleaning crew coming, hurry!!!" Excuse us but I paid good money for the show and that was no way of treating the customers like that, and that somewhat killed my experience for the evening.

BEST PHANTOM EVER!

Hugh Panaro is truly fabulous as the Phantom! His vocal tone is absolutely superb; no finer voice on Broadway, that's for sure!

TIME FOR NOISE INSULATION

I love the Phantom and enjoyed seeing it in NYC last week. However, the street noise through the side exit doors was so loud that it was distracting and difficult, often, to make out what the actors were saying. I think it is time to rennovate!

A MUST SEE SHOW

When I first heard of this show, I didn't think too much of it. I went because the person I was going with had a free ticket & wanted me to go with her. Once I heard the music, I was immediately hooked onto the performance. The songs the cast sung were very powerful & even in the top row, the audience was moved by it. The story to it all was a romantic-horror show, but none-the-less, an amazing performance. I first saw this when I was 15 and Im 20 now. The show, the songs, everything about the performance will stay with you forever. I know it will for me.

PHANTOM- PHANTASTIC ~ THEATER PERSONNEL- OBNOXIOUS!

Okay, I know we were in NYC, but seriously! A floor attendant was barking orders at theater patrons like a bad teacher trying to control the classroom by screaming at the poor students. His performance, was unfortunatley, the one I remembered the most. Please reconsider your technics for audience control. As for the REAL performers, "BRAVO". It was "Phantastic".

SIMPLY HAUNTING

My daughter and I celebrated her 13th birthday by seeing Phantom at the Majestic as her first Broadway show. No strangers to the stage, she has already performed in 10 musicals, and taken dance for 5 years, while I performed throughout my teen years. I have seen Phantom performed in Toronto previously, which I now know does not hold a candle to the NYC production. The Majestic is a perfect venue, while the set, costumes, and special effects were stunning. The talent of the cast, particularly Hugh Panero, whose performance I daresay rivaled Michael Crawford's was amazing. The power and control of his voice, and his pure tone was the most beautiful thing I have ever heard. Sara Jean Ford interpreted the role of Christine beautifully. We left the theatre in awe, and 2 weeks later are still reeling from the performance. Thanks to the cast and crew for a fantastic show and unforgettable experience. But then, how can you go wrong with an Andrew Lloyd Webber show?! A must see!

A TRIUMPH OF MUSICAL THEATRE

I have seen "The Phantom of the Opera" at the Majestic Theatre 16 times. At this point, I simply cannot attend other, lesser shows with the knowledge that this is playing. It has spoiled me in a way no other musical, play, or opera has ever managed to spoil me before. As I write this review, Hugh Panaro and Sara Jean Ford lead the company as the title character and Christine DaaƩ, respectively. Hugh Panaro's voice is sublime; those few high notes that give some Phantoms pause simply do not stand a chance against him. Hearing him sing is like being caressed by an angel. Then you mix Sara in and you feel that you are hearing the personal choir of God almighty. While some Christines struggle in their middle and lower ranges, Sara's voice hits each and every note with a precision I have yet to find in any other performer. These two performers, combined with an excellent supporting cast, a haunting score, and Maria Bjornson's unforgettable scenery and costumes yield an incredible show.
