CHEAP CHICAGO RUN VERSION OF "PHANTOM" WHY CHEAP?

DISAPPOINTING Saw this 'new improved' version on it's second day, a matinee. Disappointing production. (CHEAP) For some reason, the entire stage wasn't used, it seemed to be 'shrunk' by about 1/3. You could see both the characters as well as those moving the sets come and go from the stage on each side. Premier Scene of the staircase in the Mascarade scene is not included. The chandelier does not moveon stage/drop.... to the costumes were not special,CHEAP to me the sets were underwhelming. and CHEAP I've seen the Phantom 5-6 times in Chicago and at Venetian in Vegas and the venues were full stage It must be a Chicago CHEAP thing. This honestly seemed more like a high school production than a Broadway show. At $100 for a matinee, I do not recommend this particular production. 2019 traveling tour was horrific. The stage and costumes were very dark and reminded me of a dinner play house. I was shocked during “Masquerade “.NO STAIRCASE OR COSTUMES By far the worse production of phantom that I have ever seen. DID i SAY chicago WAS CHEAP? CHEAP!

DISAPPOINTED

2019 traveling tour was horrific. The stage and costumes were very dark and reminded me of a dinner play house. I almost cried during “Masquerade “. The music is always good. By far the worse production of phantom that I have ever seen.

DISAPPOINTING

Saw this 'new improved' version on it's second day, a matinee. What a disappointing production. For some reason, the entire stage wasn't used, it seemed to be 'shrunk' by about 1/3. You could see both the characters as well as those moving the sets come and go from the stage on each side. Abbreviating the stage means that the staircase in the Mascarade scene is not included. The chandelier does not move.... the costumes were not special, the sets were underwhelming. I've seen the Phantom 5-6 times at venues in both Denver and LA. This honestly seemed more like a high school production than a Broadway show. At $100 for a matinee proformance, I do not recommend this particular production.

OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE

Magnificent show... the music was incredible ... the scenery beautiful... the phantom was the understudy and I can’t imagine a performance any. Better, he was magnificent ... my favorite part... If you get the chance it’s a must see !!!

PHANTOM OF THE OPERA

I saw it several years ago. Liked it better the first time, but overall good show.

PHANTOM WAS AMAZING!

We saw Phantom of the Opera in June, 2019 and I can't imagine anything better. It had all the elements of my dream of a Broadway play and set in the iconic Majestic Theatre. We had excellent seats and experienced it up close. The music is beautiful and familiar and I highly recommend it.

PHANTOM OF THE OPERA

We saw the show in Costa Mesa on opening night, July 10th. The orchestra was way too loud. The Phantom's voice was outstanding. Christine's voice could not out sing the orchestra. Her voice is just not powerful enough, so the moments when she should just soar the songs, did not happen. I actually liked her lower voice better. The longer she sang the more strident the upper voice became. Still enjoyable. The good news is there are four people singing the role, so if you attend after July 14th, you may have a totally different experience.
