Back with their ninth studio album
As well known for their infamous feuding as for their ground-breaking punk rock work, Violent Femmes have been out of hiatus since 2013, and are ready to show the States why they are one of the best acts in punk, having released their ninth studio We Can Do Anything, the first since 2000's Freak Magnet. Their new commitments finally put to bed the infamous lawsuit between Ritchie and Gano over THAT Wendy's ad song....
Originally formed in 1980, the Femmes hit instant fame with their self-titled 1983 debut LP, famous for tunes such as immediate success with the release of their self-titled debut album in early 1983. Featuring many of their well-known songs including "Blister in the Sun", and "Kiss Off, this album remains their biggest success so far, and has finally been certified platinum status with the influx of new fans and through internet sales.
The current line-up includes Gordon Gano on lead vocals and guitar, Brian Ritchie on bass and backing vocals and John Sparrow on drums following the resignation of drummer Brian Viglione.
The trio will be hitting Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Toronto, ON, Closed November 2, 2018 this summer!
