Acting icon John Malkovich joins with opera singers, a 20-strong choir and an ensemble of classical musicians for Their Master's Voice, an arresting show that is like nothing you've ever seen the legendary actor in before. The production stars Malkovich in the role of retired American opera singer Jeffrey Himmeloch, who is in rehearsals for a new show he has conceived. As he tries to recreate the spirit of the famous sixteenth century castrato singer Farinelli within his cast, he searches desperately for someone who can conjure in their voice those famously high tones, to do the performance justice.

Salesman in China comes to the Mirvish for its Toronto Premiere! A new play by Leanna Brodie and Jovanni Sy, the piece is inspired by the memoirs of Death of a Salesman writer Arthur Miller and the renowned Chinese actor Ying Ruocheng, dramatizing a pivotal moment of artistic exchange between East and West. Directed by Sy and performed in both English and Mandarin with projected surtitles, language itself is an active theatrical element in the play, highlighting the obstacles that must be crossed for culture and artistic intent to be shared.
