JFL42 Festival's Top Comic Competition Finals
Over the course of 10 entertainment-packed days, the JFL42 Comedy Festival takes over Toronto and gives audiences the chance to see a star-studded roster of heavyweight headliners as well as 42 up-and-coming comedy acts from across the nation (hence the '42' in its moniker). Back for its fifth year running, the rib-tickling festivities have grown by 15 percent since 2015, with a grand total of over 73,000 attendees flocking to the city's top venues for a whirlwind of wry observations, side-splitting sketches and hilarious stand-up routines.
Step right up for the final of the festival's Top Comic competition and find out which next-big-thing in Canada's comedy scene will take the top honours! Hosted by comedian Ben Miner of SiriusXM's Canada Laughs radio show, the evening brings together eight Top Comic finalists for mirthful sparring and groundbreaking stand-up, with the aim of crowning one lucky winner. Headlining act and celebrated comedienne Maria Bamford is also set to take to the stage to show 'em how its done!
The SiriusXM's Top Comic finalists are Chanty Marostica (Winnipeg, MB), Kyle Brownrigg (Ottawa, ON), Sophie Buddle (Ottawa, ON), Myles Morrison (Saskatoon, SK), Alex Pavone (Woodbridge, ON), Brittany Lyseng (Calgary, AB), Nick Reynoldson (Scarborough, ON) and Ryan Williams (Kamloops, BC).
