Jon Batiste

Why see Jon Batiste?

Maestro tour

The socially conscious, eclectic artist, pianist, singer, and composer, is stepping into the spotlight on his intimate 2025 Maestro Tour.

The recipient of a breathtaking 11 2022 Grammy Award nominations and four wins, including Album of the Year, and four more noms for 2023, Jon Batiste is one incredible musician. You might recognize him from his tenure as Stephen Colbert's magnanimous bandleader or have heard his Oscar-winning score for Pixar's Soul (with Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross), or even with one of his genre-straddling collaborations with the likes of Stevie Wonder, Prince, Willy Nelson and more.

With such credentials, a Jon Batiste concert is not to be a simple affair, except a philosophical and intriguing adventure instead, as Batiste draws on myriad influences, including indigenous folk, pop, R&B, and many more, to present his defiant and socially conscious vision of Jazz 2.0.

Lifted me up and gave me hope.

The show exceeded my expectations (and they were high!). The accompanying performers were talented musicians, dancers, and vocalists in their own right. Jon is a generous person, showcasing his band while he continued to knock it out of the park. I traveled to Philadelphia to see the show with a friend in a relatively intimate setting. He entered and exited through the aisle near me and hugged, shook hands, high-fived, and greeted as many of us as he could. He & the entire ensemble danced out of "The Met" onto Broad Street as part of his 4th encore, and played some more. He exudes joy and is an extraordinary musician, singer, and dancer. ... Read more

Jon, Oct 1, 2025, The Big Money Tour

The music was eclectic, dynamic, emotionally evocative and socially conscious. His starting act was Diana Silver, who with “Politician,” said,”I’m going to practice the first amendment while I still have it.” Jon went on to greet us as friends and play “America” with flourish and pauses that made you hang on for that next note. The concert was jazz, funk, blues, rap, gospel, sometimes all in the same song, montages of two songs or him and his piano. He mind melds with it, I think. By the end we were all on our feet singing. ... Read more

Have always loved his songs, so was disappointed in most of the choices played at his concert. Also, the drum solo by his mentor was monotonous and long, and the duet following it was not appreciated. Overall, i felt like he deliberately threw out a mostly lame performance. Still love his songs, however…came home and played all of his great works! ... Read more
