TAKE OFF WITH THE ROCKET MAN ALL OVER AGAIN
In 2003 Toronto singer Craig Martin stumbled on an idea that would become his career for the next decade. Painstakingly accurate, note-for-note recreations of the work of classic musicians. Thus Classic Albums Live was born a series of performances featuring a core group of talented musicians playing everything from Led Zeppelin to Jimi Hendrix.
Now the group are turning their talents to the work of Elton John, despite their general rule against compilation albums. Over the course of an almost fifty-year career John has produced and collaborated on more than thirty albums, selling more than 300 million records. His 1974 album Greatest Hits stands as one of the finest collections of the singer's early work. Featuring hits like 'Your Song' which would be used in Moulin Rouge twenty-five years later and the timeless classic 'Goodbye Yellow Brick Road' ranked as one of the greatest songs of all time.
Classic Albums Live will be bringing Elton John's Greatest Hits will be playing at their usual Toronto venue of Massey Hall. With its roster of A-List artists and singers the group will be pulling out all the stops to recreate the former Reginald Dwight's signature voice and style. Definitely not one for fans of Sir Elton to miss!
