Why See National Ballet Of Canada - The Winter's Tale?
A Winter's Tale
The National Ballet of Canada presents A Winter's Tale. Originally published in 1623, The Winter's Tale is one of Shakespeare's later pieces. It's a story of love, jealousy, and redemption. Some critics believe it to be one of Shakespeare's 'problem plays' but most privileged to witness this piece of work are content to accept it for what it is - a great drama.
In this ballet version of the play, choreographed by Christopher Wheeldon, it doesn't shy away from the complexities of the story - instead, he embraces the full range of emotional qualities that the story has to offer. Wheeldon is working once again with designer Bob Crawley and composer Joby Talbot to create an immersive production that the audience can get lost in.
Opening night: 10 November 2017
