Pop punk quintet State Champs hit the road
In early 2010, State Champs burst out of their home city of Albany, New York with a bold new vision for the future of pop punk. Whilst mixing shades of Sum 41, Blink 182, Fall Out Boy and New Found Glory, the energetic quintet put their own unique spin on the oversaturated genre thanks to fast-paced rhythms, emotive lyrics, the distinctive wailing vocals of their youthful frontman Derek Discanio and the sparkling guitar riffs of dual guitarists Tyler Szalowski. Bassist Ryan Scott Graham and drummer Evan Ambrosio keep things pumping and fill out the sound with fuzzy basslines and pounding drums.
This year, State Champs are hitting the road and bringing their trademark adrenaline-spiking live show. Amidst constant crowd-surfing, moshing and fist-pumping, the outfit treats fans to a feel-good, if not incredibly sweaty, concert experience with mass singalongs and a tight set filled with career-defining hits like 'Our Time To Go', 'Secrets' and 'Criminal'.
