Cabaret

Cabaret at Lower Ossington Theatre - Mainstage

Why see Cabaret?

In here, life is beautiful

Come hear the music play at The Lot this season for a fantastic revival of Kander and Ebb's iconic 1966 Broadway classic. Based on the semi-fictionalised short stories of Christopher Isherwood, Cabaret is a paean to an age of decadence and liberation cut short by the ever-growing threat of WWII in 1930s Berlin. Featuring an omnipotent Emcee and the talents (or lack thereof) of British chanteuse Sally Bowles, join the young American writer, Cliff Bradshaw, as he navigates a wild and riotous world balanced on the edge of a knife.

With a fabulous score including 'Wilkommen','The Money Song' and 'Tomorrow Belongs to Me' and a wealth of salacious performances, Cabaret is one of the most exciting pieces of musical theatre, teaching us about the fleeting nature of our reality - and how to enjoy it while it lasts.

Raw, real, pumped with amazing energy - a total must see! Value add - wonderful vegan restaurants in the neighbourhood. We ate at Mytholgy (Queen & Dufferin) and will definitely return. ... Marvelous

Absolutely wonderful. Everything that you hope for in a musical but with a story that grabs your soul. Thank you for bringing this to Columbus. ... Read more

Excellent Show

Wonderful version of Cabaret to include acting, singing, and the musical accompaniment. The only flaw of the evening had nothing to do with the show itself, but the enjoyment of it, marred by, unfortunately, a long-standing issue: the hall's acoustics. We were in Box 8 this time, but have experienced this also in parts of the orchestra section at concerts. ... Read more
