Why see Johnny Marr and James?
Double Headline
Legendary Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr and fellow British rock mainstays James have announced a massive double headline tour of North America this Fall! Marking almost four decades since The Smiths and James toured together in 1985 in support of the release of The Smiths' seminal album Meat Is Murder, expect the two Manchester acts to perform career-spanning sets worthy of their titles as two of the most influential artists in modern rock.
Johnny Marr
Best known for his work in The Smiths, Marr has also been involved in a wide range of other influential acts, including The Pretenders, The Cribs and Modest Mouse. He's also performed prolifically as a guest musician with such names as The Pet Shop Boys, Talking Heads and Hans Zimmer and is widely appreciated as one of the most important songwriters and performers of his generation.
James
Coming up in the same scene as The Smiths, James spent years building a reputation as a solid live band, eventually reaching enormous mainstream success with the 1991 re-release of their 1989 single 'Sit Down'. Despite not topping the charts at the time, in 2013 the song was voted fourth in BBC Radio's list of the greatest ever tracks never to hit number one.
