National Ballet of Canada - Anima Animus

A stunning new ballet
Why see National Ballet of Canada - Anima Animus?
breathtaking modern ballet
Leading choreographer David Dawson's Anima Animus comes to Toronto having captivated audiences across North America and the UK since it's debut in 2018 in San Francisco. A breathtaking display of modern ballet, the piece is a mesmerizing exploration of psychiatrist Carl Jung's famous defining of the human collective unconscious as Anima and Animus, set to Violin Concerto No. 1 by Ezio Bosso.
The movements of the ballet muse on ideas of contradictions and variation, with the cast in expressive costume designed by Yumiko Takeshima. The evening will also showcase a new work by Rena Butler before Dawson's stunning finale.
