Why See & Juliet?

Baby One More Time

If you've been waiting for a musical that features the hits of Britney Spears, The Backstreet Boys and The Weeknd, then your day is finally here! Following its rapturous run on London's West End, & Juliet, a new musical that features songs by extraordinaire Max Martin is hitting Toronto in 2022. This new brand new tuner is a sure-fire hit and will star some of Broadway's brightest, including Lorna Courtney as Juliet, Paulo Szot as Lance, Betsy Wolfe as Anne Hathaway and Stark Sands as Shakespeare!

What is the story?

& Juliet rips up the rule book as we discover what happened if the sorry end of Romeo and Juliet never actually happened. With Romeo dead, our heroine Juliet heads to France to heal her broken heart. With her besties at her side and a whole host of musical bangers to boot, Juliet rediscovers life after love.

With a book by Schitt's Creek writer David West Read, & Juliet features direction by Luke Sheppard (In The Heights) and choreography by Jennifer Weber.

What we thought

BOLD cheesy Brash

It's not going to win Nobel prizes or Pulitzers, but it will keep you entertained for two and a half hours.

If you think that there couldn't possibly be room for another jukebox musical in London then you'd be very wrong as & Juliet storms into the Shaftesbury Theatre with the music of Max Martin in its clutches.
