Rick Miller returns with his tour-de-force one man show about the Baby Boomer generation
Gemini award-winning writer, director, performer and musician Rick Miller returns to Toronto's CAA Theatre with his ambitious one-man show Boom, an explosive celebration of the pop music, culture and politics that defined the Baby Boomer Generation. The production first garnered rave reviews in 2015, when Miller first introduced Canadian audiences to his unique performance style - the chameleon slips into a myriad roles, supplying the voices for over 100 influential figures including Justin Trudeau and Joe Cocker.
Miller's jaw-dropping vocal gymnastics punctuate the tale of three people who shaped his youth, namely his mother and the men in her life. Chronicling the years between 1945 and 1969, the celebrated performer weaves together watershed moments in history, iconic film clips, musical experts and personal stories, culminating in a fascinating examination of the era and how it impacted on his own life. Over the course of these condensed decades, Miller musters enough zeal and bravado to pull of the considerable feat, leaving audiences marvelling at his boundless energy, determination and creative vision.
