Why See Dry Powder?
Finance and Comedy Merge in Sarah Burgess' Dry Powder
Can money be funny? Playwright Sarah Burgess seems to think so. Her latest play uses satire to explore the inner workings of a high-flying New York finance company, with jargon included.
The story focuses on Rick, the president of a finance firm who throws a luxurious and celebratory party for himself after laying off many of his employees - bad PR alert!
After this disaster, Rick and his team have to come together to figure out how they're going to clear the company's name. The play sheds an intimate light on those who have power over America's economy.

From the beginning of the pounding percussion line, the energy in the theatre was palpable. I've never felt anything like it!
