Bah Humbug!
Ross Petty has been delighting Toronto audiences with his unique brand of Holiday fun for over 20 years now. Taking inspiration from the British tradition of pantomimes, these productions take a well known tale and add in lots of slapstick humor for the kids, winking jokes for the adults and plenty of audience participation. This year, it's A Christmas Carol which is getting the Petty treatment, and while you can expect the story to take some thoroughly un-Dickensian tangents, all of the story's well-known elements, from Scrooge to Bob Cratchett, should be present and correct.
Ross Petty himself hung up his acting spurs a few years ago to concentrate on the creative side of things, but his shows are always packed with top draw Canadian acting talent. Among the cast this year are Eddie Glen (Digimon: The Movie, last year's Petty show Sleeping Beauty) and AJ Bridel (Kinky Boots at the Mirvish).
