Joe Rogan Brings His Testosterone-Fuelled Comedy To Toronto
Over the course of 10 entertainment-packed days, the JFL42 Comedy Festival takes over Toronto and gives audiences the chance to see a star-studded roster of heavyweight headliners as well as 42 up-and-coming comedy acts from across the nation (hence the '42' in its moniker). Back for its fifth year running, the rib-tickling festivities have grown by 15 percent since 2015, with a grand total of over 73,000 attendees flocking to the city's top venues for a whirlwind of wry observations, side-splitting sketches and hilarious stand-up routines.
Beginning his career by founding a blue comedy act in Boston the late 80s, Joe Rogan has since risen through the ranks to become a venerated stand-up comedian, as well as a martial arts commentator and podcast host. His high-octane, intense and confident alpha-male brand of comedy is a no-holds-barred whirlwind of loose improvisation and audience interaction, but shining through the wild gesticulations and expletives are intelligent and insightful observations that lift his testosterone-fuelled style to an art form.
