Ticket to Rock Toronto

December 31, 2017

A star-studded rock lineup awaits at this year's Ticket To Rock, in Toronto. Rise Against, Incubus, Korn, Deftones. Jimmy Eat World and Stone Sour have been confirmed so far in what will be an epic meeting of rockers and metalheads. Punk rockers Rise Against believe that should be about something, railing against political inequality and oppressive social forces with blistering riffs and fist-pumping, no-holds-barred sheer force of will; they will be joined by Deftones, who they have also been touring with this spring and summer.

Prog rock greats Jethro Tull mark half a century in the music business with this special anniversary tour. Leading their ranks is their one original member, and wielder of the most famous flute in rock history, Ian Anderson.

Rock music today would have been very different without these two. More than two decades after their began, both bands are still going strong, and they've joined forces for this mammoth US tour.

Following One Direction's split (sorry, beginning of their hiatus), all the band members have gone their various ways. Zayn's now a slick R&B crooner and Harry's trying to bring back rock & roll into the mainstream. Meanwhile Niall Horan has picked up his guitar, plugged into some 70s folk and rock influences, and given us two outstanding singles - the intricate, finger-picked 'Our Town' and the funk-laden, hand-clappy 'Slow Hands'.
