AMAZING SHOW, GREAT SOUND
The show at RTH was fantastic. Great sound in the theater. Nathaniel and his band were accompanied beautifully by a fantastic string quartet. The tunes were joined by fantastic lighting and effects that suited the venue and the emotion in the theater. New solo album is fantastic and I loved every minute of the show. Not sure how anyone could think otherwise.

The venue as always was amazing. The history of the building and the acoustics are some of the best I've experienced and have been to many venues big and small. Would have liked to hear some of Nathaniel's older music from the Night Sweats. As good as the new music is I feel like I heard the same song several times just in a different time signature. At one point I found myself trying not to nod off because how somber the mood got. Not sure I would go see him again unless he changed the set list and added some upbeat music. I know I'm not the only person who feels this way talking to people leaving the theater and leaving the parking garage someone was blaring S.O.B from there vehicle. Guessing they would have liked to here that tune. He needs to get the horn section back in there.

ONE SONG FROM NIGHT SWEATS???
I love Rateliff and particularly the Night Sweats albums that have made him successful. So what does he do?...play Roy Thompson Hall and only one song from the two Night Sweats albums. The advertisement said he played across his whole catalogue. The new album is good but this is arrogant and disappointing.

ORCHESTRAL MANEUVERS IN THE DARK
I knew the concert would be different and it was. Mostly all new material with Nate choosing to not play the songs that I truly love, i.e. S.O.B. or I Need Never Get Old. What I was really disappointed with, and I know its a result of being able to video record on your smart phone but visually it looked like I was watching 10 or so glowing orange pumpkins on stage with all the musicians in the dark. I couldn't tell if it was really the Night Sweats up there or just the Dry Heaves.

orpheum theater concert. Had high expectations-was told he was a dynamic performer. show was dull, boring and lacking in passion,energy- NO Encores! not to perform the songs that helped him to achieve recognition was extremely disappointing-what happened to the horn section! they generate power on the records- instead they were replaced with four violins- not one encore!
