Thomas Kail to direct Oliver! movie re-make
Thomas Kail, the Tony-winning director of Hamilton is set to direct a brand new Disney re-make of the 1960s favorite, Oliver!
Based on Charles Dickens' book, the movie was originally made in 1968 after the story had been a smash hit on stage in both London and New York.
Including songs like 'You've Got To Pick A Pocket Or Two', 'Food, Glorious Food', 'As Long as He Needs Me', 'Consider Yourself' and 'I'd Do Anything' the screenplay will be written by Danny Strong (Empire, Game Change) who's writing has won him an Emmy.
The re-make will also star rapper Ice Cube as the villain, Fagin.
