DISAPPOINTED

As a long time theatre-goer, I have to say this performance was disappointing overall. Firstly, though, I want to say the theatre is beautiful and views of the stage were excellent. Staff was attentive. I brought my 7-year-old son and he enjoyed the show. Choreography was great, and we thought the kids playing orphans were fantastic. The actress playing Grace Farrell was really good, and definitely had one of the better performances in the show. Unfortunately the actress playing Annie didn’t make much of an impression on me. Her voice was shrill and downright annoying. It was surprisingly to see her cast in this role. Considering ticket prices are higher now than ever before, I would have appreciated a better performance. British actors playing American characters didn’t help much, either.

March 26th 1:30 performance. I found Annie's voice to be surprisingly inadequate. I never got a goosebump in the entire show. Daddy Warbucks voice and his assistants were strong. The assistant and Rooster had the strongest voices in the show. Staging was low budget. Wouldnt go again. Probably better for kids.

ANNIE

Overall we enjoyed the show. Annie was painfull at times and shrill. However what has the most upsetting was the poor pup, he, she..... was terrified, and shaking like a leaf, and in my opinion should not be put through this ....... I am surprised you haven't gotten complaints about this from more than show goers. It ruined the evening for me.

We really enjoyed the play however we found the actress playing Annie disappointing. Her voice was high pitched and shrill for a young girl.

The kids we brought liked it a lot. But honestly the Annie character was not a great singer and she felt pretty flat. Liked the actors who played Warbucks and Grace (Grace had the most marvellous voice!) and watching the actors ham it up as Miss Hannigan and Rooster was great. Those two really were fantastic. The kids ensemble was great as well. Some great choregraphy. But the actors playing Annie at our matinee were just frankly painful to watch and to listen to. If the main actor can't carry the show...it just makes it painful. Poor kid.

ANNIE

We were very disappointed with the production of Annie which we attended on Sat. May 26. We could not understand the cast of children including the actress who played Annie - not only when they sang , but when they spoke as well. Their diction was appalling..... they did not sing – they screamed. We left at the intermission. With a ticket price of over $100.00, we have a higher expectation of the quality of performances as should the producers. As a seasoned subscriber (over 10 years ) , we have seen many shows with child performers and we have never experienced this before. I would not recommend this show to anyone.
