LOOK GOOD FEEL GOOD

Great to see this upbeat performance giving tribute to some real life heroines. Real - refreshing performances!

LIGHTEN UP! IT'S GREAT!

I absolutely LOVED this show. Laughed my head off all the way through and cried at the end. Sorry to hear others had audibility issues but that was not the case for me or any of my friends who have seen this fantastic production. Probably depends on where you sit? Also- I don't think it's ever been advertised as a musical. There is some music from the character who had a promising future as a singer and also some lovely choral stuff in keeping with the nature of the W.I...but it is very clearly a play where dialogue and character are central to the production. Very real, very warm and very, very funny. Highly recommended.

WONDERFUL AND MOVING!

I enjoyed seeing Calendar Girls on the opening night. I quite enjoyed the whole production. It was hilarious but also very emotional too. It had me both laughing out loud and also crying silently! What I take away from this production is the power of women and the importance of a good group of girlfriends! I also would like to praise the courage of these actresses who actually do remove their clothes - I couldn't do it in front of an audience! Well done!

ENJOYABLE OVERALL

The acting is great (especially Fiona Reid) but the play isn't all that good. You'll still have a good time and there are some hearty laughs in it (again thanks to the acting) so coupled with a good dinner it is a fun night out.

CALENDAR GIRLS

Who are all these people writing review as if they are actual critics...sure, fine "liked it , didn't like it" is dandy for a ticket paying patron, but this pretense at actually being in some way accredited as a REAL critic, or with some expertise...which implies actual training in criticism and theatre...people who actually understand the hard work involved in evolving a 30 or 40 year carreer as a professional actress ( as self- employed women in a sexist, agist industry while raising families, no mean feat, you try it). I am tired of the increasing "expertization" going on in our society due to some aspects of a"free" forum such as the Internet. So please, restrict your comments to your real area of expertise....not script analysis, dialect expertise, comedy timing..but audience enjoyment. Camel Flowers

COULD NOT HEAR IT

This may have been a really good play if one could have heard the actors, my husband who has a keen sense of hearing missed at least half of what was said. Very drawn out at times, a lot of yawning going on, very disappointing and amaturish.
