Get Out Star Lil Rey Howery Joins the JFL42 Roster
Over the course of 10 entertainment-packed days, the JFL42 Comedy Festival takes over Toronto and gives audiences the chance to see a star-studded roster of heavyweight headliners as well as 42 up-and-coming comedy acts from across the nation (hence the '42' in its moniker). Back for its fifth year running, the rib-tickling festivities have grown by 15 percent since 2015, with a grand total of over 73,000 attendees flocking to the city's top venues for a whirlwind of wry observations, side-splitting sketches and hilarious stand-up routines.
Counting the likes of Kevin Hart amongst his ardent fans, Lil Rey Howery began his comedy career on Chicago's East Side before a stint on reality TV comedy competition Last Comic Standing thrust him into the national spotlight in 2007. Recently, the performer won an MTV Movie & TV Award for his role in Jordan Peele's cult hit horror satire Get Out and is set to star alongside Sinbad in his very own sitcom Rel, coming out on Fox in the fall of 2018.
