Margeret Cho Brings Her Bold Comedy To Toronto
Over the course of 10 entertainment-packed days, the JFL42 Comedy Festival takes over Toronto and gives audiences the chance to see a star-studded roster of heavyweight headliners as well as 42 up-and-coming comedy acts from across the nation (hence the '42' in its moniker). Back for its fifth year running, the rib-tickling festivities have grown by 15 percent since 2015, with a grand total of over 73,000 attendees flocking to the city's top venues for a whirlwind of wry observations, side-splitting sketches and hilarious stand-up routines.
Iconic comedienne Margaret Cho joins the JFL42 ranks for two evenings of the in-your-face, unapologetic comedy she has become known for. The Korean-American perennial provocateur leaves no stone unturned when she weaves her trademark brutal honesty with hot topic current events, from the politics du jour to LGBQT issues to scintillating and sexually-charged stories about her own journey of self. Bringing taboos out into the open with wit, poise and a wry sense of irony, Cho is a one-woman tour-de-force performer that may cause shock and offence but always with a side order of mirthful belly laughs.
Please note: Cho's second performance date at Second City Toronto is billed as an evening of conversation.
