FISHERMAN’S FRIENDS

Fantastic lively music. Great story. Great set but would have liked to see some scenery changes, perhaps a few scrims now and then. Dialogue seemed very rushed in the beginning so hard to catch everything they said. Overall a fantastic feel good rollicking musical. We need more of these!! Review was for show Tuesday January 3.

ENERGETIC TALENT BUT .....

the seating was great, the view was great and the talent was amazing. Unfortunately, the lyrics were incomprehensible. Very fast singing without the crispness needed for the words to be understood. This was incredibly frustrating, as there was not one song in the entire musical that could be enjoyed. We made a special trip from Montreal to attend, as we have done for many other amazing Mirvish performances and are so very disappointed. It wasn't just us either. Several people around us spontaneously complained about the same thing. We longed for subtitles. Fortunately we had seen the movie, which was wonderful - or we would have been left with the impression that Fisherman's Friend was being performed in a foreign language. The saving grace were the glorious solos performed by Parisa Shahmir - clear and uplifting. Wish she could have saved the show.

FISHERMAN’S FRIEND

The men never spoke in a normal voice. They yelled constantly. Horrible costumes. Looked like ordinary people walked off the street and on to stage. Nothing striking or beautiful in this play. Looks very amateurish like high school drama. Zero effort in production. Very blah! Disappointing for Mirvish show.

FISHERMAN’S FRIEND

Nice theatre. Unfortunately show was dull. Incomprehensible lyrics. Terrible costumes. Not at all gripping. Singing was mediocre.
