I'm blown away by this show. The themes of connection and wanting to belong and be seen so badly in a tech-saturated world resonated deeply. Thank you to the cast for being so damn talented and sharing your gifts with Toronto.

BRILLIANT CANADIAN CAST DOES JUSTICE TO THIS TONY AWARD WINNING MUSICAL
I bought my tickets for opening night of Dear Evan Hansen in Toronto as soon as they went on sale and anxiously awaited it's arrival for months. I didn't have the pleasure of watching the Broadway production with Ben Platt live, but I did watch a lot of the videos available on YouTube with him playing the lead role and I was a bit anxious about whether the Toronto show and cast could measure up.
I was there for opening night on March 5 and can honestly say that this production not only exceeded expectations, but literally blew me away. I thought Robert Markus was absolutely brilliant, believable and vocally blew it out of the water. Jessica Sherman was nothing short of brilliant in her performance of Heidi Hansen and had me balling in So Big/So Small.
I'll be going to see this a few more times before it leaves for good.

DEEPLY MOVING, WONDERFUL, TALENTED CAST!
This was an amazing show! My daughter and I have been listening to the soundtrack for years now and to finally see this play in person was incredible. The talent of this cast and their ability to bring to life such a profound story...it just blew us both away! Both my daughter who is 18 and myself were so moved and felt connected to this story for so many reasons. I highly recommend seeing this play. Although, I saw children in the theater, I would not recommend for children. The show has mature themes and strong language.

VERY WELL DONE ON A SENSITIVE ISSUE.
I saw this play last Sat. It had comical moments to share (Alassandro Castellani was spot on!), instrmental to impress (props to the strings and keyboard), and music to enjoy as well as to set the tone. This play takes on an increasing growing issue with respect. The sensitivity of the issue was felt from from front seats to the back of the theatre. It leaves you with conversation to take home, to school, or to work. Bravo!

AMAZING
Saw the show last night, brought me to tears. I have been following this show since practically the beginning and I was skeptical about the cast but boy was I wrong. Evan was played amazing as well as Zoe and the rest of the cast. Most people find this show's flaws to out way the good but I feel the exact opposite, when I left the theater I was smiling through tears from this amazingly beautiful piece of art I had witnessed. So please go see this show if you have the chance you won't regret it.

DEAR EVAN HANSEN
Overall I enjoyed the show. I had a hard time in the beginning believing that Evan was a real person, I felt that the actor's delivery of the lines came across as just that, lines. The actor was better in the second half and was more of a real person to me than a character.
This could be in part that perhaps I placed too many expectations on the show. I try not to do that but sometimes it happens.
The other characters, from the get go, I felt were real people.
The depressing nature and raw emotion was nice to see as its not something you usually see on stage. You want a show to make you think and feel and that's what this show did.
That's my opinion. Great voice from the lead and amazing singing from all.
I would probably see it again.
