This musical was just tremendous! I watched
the matinee on Wednesday. I went into it
only knowing a few songs, and left with
knowledge gained about the Temptations
and the need to finish downloading all their
songs on spotify. This musical does a great
job of making you ride a range of emotions,
from laughter, shock, to tears that left me
with puffy eyes. The cast was just amazing,
not one weak link! This had to be one of the
best musicals I've seen, and that's saying a
lot cause I'm a musical geek. I highly suggest
people get on the bandwagon before it gets
big on Broadway!

MIRVISH REDEEMED
I've been pretty disillusioned with Mirvish productions over the past few years. I just don't get
those spine tingling experiences that I used to get. I've always thought that it's because
Mirvish cheaps out on talent; you rarely get any well recognized talent like you see on
Broadway or London's west end. Generally I rarely see any of the talent 'leaving it on the
stage' any more Toronto is the theatre capital of Canada and it pales in comparison to others.
Having said this, the performance of Aint Too Proud was outstanding. Every performer
'bought it', no one seemed to demonstrate the fatigue or familiarity of the role, they all
performed like it was their first time, which was energetic, enthusiastic and needless to say;
exciting to watch. A play and a concert all in one, voices were fabulous. My husband loved it
for his birthday gift and I definitely recommended you see this at least once - good for all ages
over 8 (some cursing). 3rd row aisle seats were perfect.

AIN’T TO PROUD
This show was so amazing from beginning to
end. I loved every minute of it! The storyline
was intriguing, and the singing and dancing
were exceptional. So much fun! We took our 10
year old. There is some language that is not
appropriate for young audiences.

THIS SHOW IS AMAZING!
I saw this production in DC and it was phenomenal, the energy will have you dancing in your seat!

A NOSTALGUC TREAT FOR THE SOUL
I loved this show so much I saw it 3 times in Toronto in December 2023 and would see it again if I have the opportunity The singing is excellent, the choreography outstanding, the harmonies sweet, the energy exhilarating, the story interesting and worked well to tie the show together. The show moved my soul to a high level. The band was terrific too. I knew these songs from my younger years but didn't realize how good they were until I saw Ain't Too Proud. Don't miss this show if you like this genre of music All of the performers were terrific but I I cannot end without emphasizing how much I admired and enjoyed Elijah Ahmad Lewis in his role as David Ruffin. He really stood out in a way I imagine the real Davud Ruffin did in the original Temptations. A really fabulous show. Please don't miss it.

A MUST SEE!
I particularly enjoyed the blend
between the story of the Temptations
, the people and their music.
Their music was our gift at a cost
filled with ups and downs through ea
h of their careers and lives.
I think about their story long after the
play finished.

DISAPPOINTED
Good story line but weak vocals except for the character Josephine.
The ending was weak, was waiting for a crescendo when the audience
was in the moment waiting for more, sadly that didn’t happen. Need
to sharpen up before broadway.

GREAT TALENT, POORLY WRITTEN.
This is a jukebox show - you'll know all the songs and likely have a great time if you go in
with that in mind. Otherwise, it's a poor excuse for a biopic. Story is stilted and not really
tied together. I'd expect a re-write or two ahead of Broadway. If you have this as part of
your subscription, it's an entertaining show. Otherwise, I'd skip it.

AIN'T TOO GREAT
We were underwhelmed. The stars were often oversinging to the point of shouting, the book was erratic - sometimes trite. The alignment of songs with the plot was sometimes odd, especially with the Stevie Wonder song in the second act. The band was tight and the songs are obviously great, but the show packaging them is still pretty rough.
