Young The Giant

September 21, 2016

The California-based indie rockers are headed out on a national tour, in support of their third studio album Home of the Strange. First coming to widespread prominence in 2010, their debut album was recorded old-school style, with a focus on only recording material that they could faithfully recreate for a live audience. Having supported various acts through the last few years, this headlining tour is set to be a big pull for fans of SoCal indie rock.

Coheed and Cambria is an American rock band from New York, formed in 1995. Taking in aspects of progressive rock, punk rock, heavy metal and post-hardcore as their influences, Coheed and Cambria's concept albums are all based on a storyline called The Amory Wars. Lead vocalist and keyboardist Claudio Sanchez is the brains behind the narrative, which has informed seven of their eight albums!

For those who don't know yet Die Antwoord (Afrikaans: "The Answer") are a futuristic rap-rave crew from South Africa who represent a fresh new style called Zef, itself a combination of rejected elements from past styles. Hilarious and disturbing in equal measure, their live performances know no equal, as the international attention for their debut video Enter The Ninja proved.

Led by Ben Bridwell, Band of Horses do anthemic, wistful American indie better than anyone. Drenched in reverb and glittering guitar tones, they trade in vulnerability while still playing songs bursting with hooks and fist-pumping choruses.

Troye Sivan Poster

November 8, 2016

It's the age of the Youtube generation, a group of vibrant young people that are finding new avenues for their creativity - take Troye Sivan for example. The South African-born Australian actor-singer has amassed the third largest Youtube following in Australia (that's a whopping 3.6 million subscribers!) with his active presence on the 'vlogosphere' and a budding music career. His debut album Blue Neighbourhood shot to the top of the international charts in late 2015 and now the 20-year old is heading out on tour to support it!
