AN EXPLOSIVE LOOK AT 2,500 YEARS OF ORATORY
This one-man tour-de-force sees Belgian actor Valentijn Dhaenens pay tribute to over 2,500 years of oratory and speeches, covering everybody from Socrates through to, controversially, Osama bin Laden, the leader of the Spanish Inquisition and even boxing legend Mohammed Ali. A bona fide sell-out hit , this show wowed the crowds twice at the 2012 & 2014 Edinburgh Festivals, and now Dhaenens makes his long-awaited premiere this side of the Atlantic in Toronto! A must-see for fans and of oratory and literature, this show will demonstate the tricks of successful speech-giving that have stayed constant throughout the ages, even if the rhetoric hasn't.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
The Panasonic stage will be stripped back completely for this one-man show, with five microphones making the most of Dhaenens' voice and endless energy, as he takes you on a journey through the most famous (and infamous) sermons, war declarations, farewells, final arguments, victory speeches and eulogies that have made it into the history books, whilst putting his own unique spin on their meanings, and bringing them to life for the 21st century.
