Beloved in Canada as one of the most entertaining pianists around Michael Keashammer invites you to join the party. The pianist, composer, occasional cook for his stunning showmanship when performing jazz, rock ‘n roll or boogie woogie he draws his audience in, making you part of the fun. His charm has seen him win the Western Canadian Music Award for Musician and Entertainer of the year.
Kaeshammer has been playing piano since he was 13-years-old, learning classical in his native Germany. He discovered boogie-woogie through the works of Albert Ammons and Pete Johnson and was soon playing Jazz clubs and festivals across Germany. In 1996 his family moved to the Westcoast of Canada and immediately gained attention for his energetic performances and inviting persona. Since then he has brought out over ten albums with his most recent No Filter released this April.
This February sees him play Toronto’s prestigious Massey Hall alongside the as part of ‘Jazz at Massey Hall’. The programme is an annual season of jazz music featuring the SFJAZZ Collective, singer Emile Claire-Barlow and a screening of The Triplets of Bellville. Kaeshammer will be playing alongside the multi-platinum selling guitarist and singer-songwriter Bobby Bazini.
