The Wooster Group's Version of Tennessee Williams' Vieux Carre

Closed March 31, 2012

I'd trade a dozen or so Broadway retreads of Williams' acknowledged masterpieces for this . . . brilliant production.

LA Times

Why See The Wooster Group's Version of Tennessee Williams' Vieux Carre?

This month The Wooster Group brings their hyper-sexualized, gritty and techno-infused interpretation of Tennessee Williams' Vieux Carré to Harbourfront Centre's Fleck Dance Theatre, complete with projections of films by Andy Warhol and Paul Morrissey, and the anarchic, hyperactive videos of Ryan Trecartin. This radical - yet textually faithful - interpretation of Williams' autobiographical play seethes with sexual and creative awakening, desire and loneliness in New Orleans.
